"The music will not be limited to jazz or by anything other than the imaginations of those performing the music."
The musicians will be hand picked by the ELA music staff and the format of the the evening will be modeled after the regular after-hours jam sessions at Minton's Playhouse in New York City during World War II. These sessions were a breeding ground for players who would come to define their eras, players such as Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, and Dizzy Gillespie. The music will not be limited to jazz or by anything other than the imaginations of those performing the music.
